Town of Hatfield Making Progress Reducing
Municipal Energy Use

From 2012 to 2016 municipal energy use in Hatfield went down by 15%, or 1515 MMBTU. This is equivalent to removing 71 cars from the road, or planting 8,564 trees.

This energy savings has been made possible by the Town's participation in the Green Communities program. Hatfield is a leader with respect to taking action to save municipal energy and reduce GHG emissions. Hatfield was one of the first certified Green Communities in the Commonwealth, securing the designation in 2010, thanks to the hard work of a motivated group of volunteers serving on the Town's Energy Committee.
